Cowl Fitting
Chimney cowls help reduce rain ingress and prevent birds from entering and nesting in your chimney.
There are a wide range of types, sizes and materials used for various applications. I can advise on the correct cowl for your application, supply and fit.
One of the most common questions I am asked is
"How much to fit a chimney cowl?"
Impossible to answer until I know what you need.
No chimney pot, open square masonry chimney.
round chimney pot - what most people think of
Louvred pot. Specialist cowl required
Square crown pot on left then two round crown pots.
All require specialist cowls
This customer had 6 chimney pots in total and no less than 4 different sizes and types required
Solid fuel crown pot cowl fitted
Wire push in cowls offer little protection and I receommend they are replaced
Cowl specifications differ for unused chimneys, gas fires and solid fuel fires with a range of metals and mesh sizes used. I carry a wide stock for the most common applications.
I use a UK based manufacturer who produces high quality, heavy duty cowls which will outlast the cheaper cowls you find in hardware and DIY outlets.
Pricing depends upon the specific application and also ease of access so please get in touch and I can advise.
